A prestigious CIGRE Colloquium took place at WIKA in Klingenberg. It involved the working groups B3 (substations) and A3 (high-voltage equipment) of the \u201cConseil International des Grands R\u00e9seaux Electriques\u201d. The two purposes of the event at the Innovation Center were to bring together experts from industry and science and also to discuss the latest developments and challenges in the field of substations and high-voltage equipment.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In addition to providing an opportunity for collegial exchange, the CIGRE Colloquium offered a presentation of innovative research results and solutions. WIKA was represented by the WEgrid Solutions division with a stand. There, our company presented the industry with the latest solutions for SF6<\/sub> monitoring, especially for digitalised systems.<\/p>\n

Sustainable SF6<\/sub> alternatives addressed at the CIGRE Colloquium<\/h2>\n

The colloquium addressed a range of critical topics in specialist presentations and exciting panel discussions. These included, for example, the integration of 2GW offshore wind farms and sustainable alternatives to SF6<\/sub> gas in high-voltage switchgear. Participants were also able to sign up for two different technical tours. With the active participation of the Next Generation Network (NGN) and the Women in Engineering Forum (WiE), the CIGRE Colloquium offered even more highlights. The event at WIKA was rounded off with a banquet at Johannisburg Palace in Aschaffenburg.<\/p>\n

At a time of rapid energy transition, CIGRE sees the promotion of diversity and innovation in power engineering as having the potential to take on and overcome challenges and seize opportunities. The lively exchange of ideas during the colloquium contributed to working towards a more sustainable energy future.<\/p>\n
