The start-up founded together by WIKA and WITTENSTEIN SE and based in Klingenberg can look back on two successful years. To mark the occasion, a joint lunch was held for Resense and WIKA employees. At the event, Managing Director Timo Markert and Technical Director Dr Sebastian Matich gave an insight into the start-up\u2019s achievements to date as well as its plans for the future.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The product concept of six-axis force torque sensors developed at WITTENSTEIN has now found its first significant applications, particularly in humanoid, medical and industrial robotics. The compact sensors with a diameter of up to 8 millimetres are integrated into robotic end effectors such as surgical instruments or artificial fingertips in order to imitate the human sense of touch and make operations and manipulations safer and more precise.<\/p>\n<h2>Resense and WIKA are continuously developing the sensors together<\/h2>\n\n      <div class=\"wp-caption alignright\" style=\"max-width:396px;\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog-stage.wika.cloudpowered.services\/en\/wp-content\/blogs.dir\/18\/files\/2025\/09\/textbild_resense.jpg\" alt=\"Resense's miniature sensors have already set new standards.\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Resense sensors for robotics are, for example, integrated into artificial fingertips to mimic the human sense of touch. The company is a joint start-up by WIKA und WITTENSTEIN SE.<\/p><\/div>\n    \n<p>Over the past two years, Resense has continuously developed and improved the sensors together with WIKA. For example, the in-house thin-film technology (Si-DMS) is used for the sensors. Automation processes, including pick-and-place methods and the vitrification of chips in the cleanroom, have elevated production to a new level. The bonding of the smallest aluminium wires also contributes significantly to further optimising the processes for series production. As part of the \u00b5-Force project, the Resense developers are also working closely together with WIKA development teams.<\/p>\n<h2>Comprehensive support<\/h2>\n<p>However, the cooperation is by no means limited to development. In other areas, such as IT, finance, logistics and marketing, the start-up also benefits from ongoing support and the partnership with WIKA. Behind the Resense team is a large number of supporting staff at WIKA and WITTENSTEIN. In close cooperation, the company has succeeded in convincing customers in research and industry worldwide of the advantages of its sensors. The progress made in development and the planned establishment of a joint production line will also help to pave the way for future success.<\/p>\n<h2>\u201cStrong example of what is possible through joint innovation.\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>This lets Managing Director Timo Markert look ahead optimistically: \u201cWe are delighted with the success of our joint venture.
